About the Foo Can
The Foo Can is named after the legendary Chinese magician Ching Ling Foo, who either invented or popularized the effect around 1898. Originally known as the “Ching Ling Foo Can,” the name was later shortened to Foo Can (or sometimes Foocan). It’s also been referred to as the Chinese Water Can.
Foo Cans have been produced by some of magic’s most respected manufacturers, including Thayer, P&L, Abbott’s, and others. This particular model, crafted from a Carnation Evaporated Milk can, is a charming piece of performance nostalgia — and a rare find in this condition.
