Gorden’s Silk in Balloon by Magic Hands (Tannen’s, 1976)
A rare and classic piece of stage magic history, Gorden’s Silk in Balloon by Magic Hands (distributed by Tannen’s) is one of the most visually astonishing silk effects ever created. First released in 1976, this effect remains a collector’s treasure and a testament to the ingenuity of Gorden and Eve Thum, founders of Magic Hands in Germany.
Effect
The magician displays a large, inflated balloon — clearly empty and nearly transparent. A silk is vanished by any preferred method (for example, using the Super Silk Pistol by Magic Hands). Instantly, the vanished silk appears inside the balloon! The effect builds even further — the silk appears to be half inside and half outside the balloon, seemingly penetrating through the side rather than the opening. Finally, the magician slowly pulls the silk completely out of the balloon, leaving it perfectly intact and ready for use in the next routine.
