Lightning Bolt – Johnson Products (Marcelo Contento)
Impossible Find: This classic effect by Marcelo Contento, manufactured by Johnson Products, features a beautifully crafted nut and bolt made from solid brass. Originally shared with Mike Caveney, the strength of the effect led to immediate production, becoming a respected piece in close-up and parlor magic.
A large nut and bolt are shown, each with a hole drilled cleanly through the center. A cord is threaded through both pieces, seemingly locking them together in a secure and impossible condition.
Yet, under the cover of a handkerchief, the impossible happens — the bolt visibly escapes, while the nut remains firmly threaded on the cord. The result is clean, direct, and highly deceptive.
