Effect

The magician displays two packets of four face-down cards — one with red backs, the other with blue backs. The spectator freely chooses either packet — no force involved. They are told to imagine that their chosen packet contains four face-down queens. Then, they think of any queen — a truly free mental selection.

A second spectator does the same with the other packet, choosing a different queen. The magician then claims that the two thought-of queens have magically traded places.

When the first spectator names their queen, the magician spreads the cards — the thought-of queen is now face up! The same miracle happens with the second spectator’s selection! But that’s not all...

• The queen in the red packet is turned over — it now has a blue back.
