The performer displays a solid crystal board, a silk handkerchief, and a ball — all of which may be examined. The ball is placed on top of the crystal board, resting in a hole that’s just small enough to prevent it from passing through.

The magician then covers the ball and board with the silk and holds them over the spectator’s open hand. With a magical gesture or command, the ball visibly penetrates the solid board and drops into the spectator’s palm!
