A Chinese Egg Bag is a classic magic prop used in various magic routines. It is a bag or pouch specifically designed to hold and conceal an egg, allowing for a variety of magical transformations and effects. The Chinese Egg Bag typically consists of a small cloth bag with an opening at the top. The bag is usually made of soft fabric, such as velvet or silk, and may be decorated with ornate patterns or embroidery. The bag is designed to be opaque and conceal the contents inside. The basic routine with a Chinese Egg Bag typically involves the following steps:

1. Introduction: The magician introduces the Chinese Egg Bag to the audience, showing it to be empty and allowing them to examine it if desired.
2. Vanishing: The magician places an egg into the bag, showing it clearly to the audience before it is placed inside. They may perform magical gestures, incantations, or cover the bag momentarily.
3. Restoration or Transformation: The magician reaches into the bag, or the spectator does so, and discovers that the egg has vanished. The magician can then produce the vanished egg from another location or transform it into another object, such as a ball or a different colored egg.
4. Reveal: The magician shows the bag to be empty once again, emphasizing the mysterious disappearance or transformation that has taken place.

The Chinese Egg Bag allows for a range of magical effects, including vanishes, appearances, transformations, and transpositions. It relies on sleight of hand techniques, misdirection, and clever handling of the bag to create the illusion of magical events occurring. The Chinese Egg Bag is a versatile prop and can be incorporated into various magic routines. It offers opportunities for creativity and can be adapted to fit the magician's own style and presentation. It's worth noting that while the name suggests a Chinese origin, the Chinese Egg Bag has become a popular prop used by magicians worldwide, and its usage is not limited to Chinese magic.
